Smoked Cornish Pilchard Fillets in Sunflower Oil



These beautiful traditonal Cornish Pilchard fillets are the second in a series put together by Cornwall’s oldest pilchard processors in collaboration with the world’s oldest sardine cannery, in Brittany.

Caught in the clear waters of the Western approaches using traditional techniques, the fish are ring-netted and preserved in prime conditon. To capture the traditional flavour, they have been filleted and flash fried using techniques perfected since 1853. The fish are smoked before being canned with fresh sunflower oil.
